How do I join?

To join Moggill Scout Group the parents must meet with the Leader and/or Group Leader, complete and sign a “Youth Member Registration Form” and pay Branch and Group Registration Fees. Your child can attend one (1) section meeting before fees are payable, but we must have a completed application form. There is a 6-week period in which your fees can be refunded if you wish to withdraw your child from Scouts.

Fees

Fees in Scouting are divided between the Queensland Branch (State office) and the local Group (Moggill).

For the 2024 – 2025 Scout year (April to March) the fees are:

  • Queensland Branch Fees: $186.00 commencing April 2022. Branch fees are partially reduced pro rata as the year progresses.
  • Group Fees: Currently $105/school term but are subject to rise and fall depending on level of fundraising able to be undertaken by the group.

Scouts Queensland is a FairPlay voucher activity provider.
Eligible parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher from the government valued up to $150 for their child, which can be used towards sport
and active recreation membership, registration, or participation fees (limited to one (1) voucher per child per calendar year). This may be used to cover
Queensland Branch fees or part thereof. Unfortunately, group fees cannot be covered by FairPlay vouchers.

Camps and some other activities may also incur a fee to cover costs such as food, camp-site fees, transport, etc. Additional activities must be paid prior to your child attending.

Uniform

The Scouts uniform consists of a shirt, scarf, and woggle. Uniforms can be purchased from https://scoutshop.com.au/.
